After 20 years of wanting a 1966 Chevelle, Rich finally found a decent body he could work with. He bought it in 2008. Pretty ratty, but workable. Rich finished the car in 2011, only for it to get flooded in Hurricane Sandy. He bought it back from the insurance company and built it again, this time better than before. All of the interior parts, dash, and exterior trim were bought at Ground Up.
The 1966 Chevelle now has a 383 stroker, close to 500 HP backed by a Richmond 5 spd transmission and a 12 bolt rear.
The car’s color is amazing. Rich was originally thinking of a different blue, but his friend Keshan at Pit Stop Autobody mixed the color and showed it to him in the sun. That was it!
He just drives it and enjoys every chance he gets.
