Steven T. always wanted a project car for him and his sons to work on together. He had a friend selling a 1972 Chevelle, and even though the car needed a lot of work, Steven purchased it.
He and his sons were not skilled mechanics, but they had great friends and family that were willing to help. The original owner of the 1972 Chevelle had stored it in a garage for years, and he was kind enough to sell it to Steven at a decent price.
Steven and his sons worked hard and learned a lot while restoring their 1972 Chevelle. They used Ground Up SS396.com to make it happen.
Unfortunately, theft in the neighborhood was a huge problem that Steven and his boys dealt with, and they suffered several losses of stolen parts right off their front porch. That set them back months, but they had to work through it.
The 1972 Chevelle has an original 350 small block engine with matching numbers. It is completely rebuilt, and he replaced the steering gear box and radiator. Now, it runs great.
Steven wanted it to be like the original ’72 Malibu, but decided to go all black, and call it the “Dark Mali” for fun, to give it character.
He still plans to replace the interior, address the trunk, and eventually, the goal is to beef up the small block and give it some kick.
Steven said that when shopping with Ground Up SS396.com “most parts were available with quick shipping options.” Steven enjoys shopping with Ground UpSS396.com and said, “we have never had issues with any incorrect parts.”
