Street B’s 1968 Chevelle Malibu

Built From The Ground Up

Street B’s 1968 Chevelle Malibu

This 1968 Chevelle was spotted by Street for sale at a local dealership, having recently been purchased from the original owner.

The 1968 Chevelle Malibu 4 door was in factory condition, except the engine had been repaired and refreshed.  It was, however, still a numbers matching block. This example is a basic model, equipped with a 307 small block paired to a TH350 automatic transmission.

It also came with all of the documentation such as the bill of sale and build sheet, as well as service records dating back to the early 70’s. Most everything on the vehicle is original or period OEM replacement parts. Street has been going through and replacing any parts that are worn out or due for service. Most recently, he has replaced the front suspension and steering.

“It is like stepping into a time machine each time I cruise in this car.”

Street

His goal is to have this car in the exact condition it would have been while at the dealership in 1968. There is some minor rust repair and cleanup throughout the 1968 Chevelle that need attention, but overall it is in great shape and well on its way toward Street’s goals.
