Thomas dated his now wife in an old 1966 Chevelle Super Sport back in the day, which inspired him to get this Chevelle in the same color.
This Chevelle 300 Deluxe is set up like a COPO car would be, the only giveaways to it’s performance chops being the cowl hood, Cragar wheels, and the under-dash gauges (water temp and oil pressure).
It has a built 496 cid that is set up to appear as if were a factory stock engine, paired to a Muncie M21 transmission. The rear end is a 12 bolt posi unit with 4.11 gears. Underpinning this Chevelle’s suspension is a full Hotchkis setup to help it track straight and turn corners hard.
Thomas is planning to wrap the steering wheel in maroon leather to match the rest of the maroon interior. He’d also like to integrate a dash insert with AutoMeter gauges in the near future. Otherwise he is perfectly content with the car as it sits.
