After crashing his first El Camino, a 1984. He found this 1980 El Camino in upstate NY from the original owner.
Although she’s gone through several upgrades and changes over 40 yrs, she has always been well maintained. It’s not a replacement for the 1984 El Camino but more of an extension.
As she sits now she has a 350ci 350hp 700r4 transmission shift kit, 4 barrel Edelbrock carb, and intake. A small street cam, long tube headers with 2.5 true dual custom Magnaflow Exhaust. SPELAB cutouts and a 3:73 rear gear. The 1980 El Camino was originally equipped with a 267ci with a TH350.
The 1980 El Camino was also given a bright Victory Red paint job with whitetail cigar band stripe, a tonneau cover, and Keystone Classic wheels. 255 60 15 rear tires and 215 60 15 front Cooper Cobra raised white letter tires upgraded from original 14″ tires.
In the future, he plans on adding rear drag bars to the rear suspension for stability. He is possibly going to put a posi rear and upgrade the steering gearbox as well.
