This 1984 El Camino was Zachery’s first car that he built over the years with his dad. Zachery ended up with this car because his father had one in high school and he wanted the same thing. I guess we can say the apple didn’t fall far from the El Camino tree…
The car was completely redone and has nothing original except for the roof and bed. Zachery got a lot of the sheet metal they needed for their build from Ground Up SS396.com and says…
“Going through Ground Up SS396.com was perfect for me because they’re warehouse is right in my neck of the woods.”
– Zachery Z
The 1984 El Camino currently has a small-block power plant… yes a small-block 396 stroker with a FiTech EFI system . The powertrain is coupled to a TH350 transmission with lots of goodies. In the rear sits a Grand National rear-end and full tubular suspension with chassis braces. Front and rear coil overs were also equipped on this 1984 El Camino.
“This car is my pride and joy and has more then I can list of Ground Up SS396.com parts. This was and will always be a father and son build and I will never part ways with my El Camino because of that!”
Zachery Z
Right on Zachery! Great story, we always love these father & son builds and by the sounds of it this was a really good one! – Team Ground Up
